Looks like Yeezy is back in the news again for being controversial. Courting the media is certainly a skill set and Kanye is proficient in it.

Fairly recently, in the month of August, a prominent DJ named DJ Clark Kent sent out a tweet that resonated with quite a few people. In the tweet, he stated that the famous rapper Kanye West told him to upload the new song “XTCY”.

He shared a link to the song, “XTCY”,  a song that was supposed to be on Kanye West’s most recent album called “YE”.

The funny thing was that this track was even on the original tracklist that was revealed to the fans.

But for whatever reason it got scrapped from the list, maybe he thought that it didn’t fit with the original meaning or overall theme of the album. A thought that would be surprising because there was a variety of themes and motifs present in that very sporadic and random album. The album talked about his personal problems, dealing with being bipolar and the consequences of his actions.

Maybe it was the right choice to leave the song outside of the album.

XTCY

Right from the first verse, Kanye West delivers some interesting content. He raps on the song stating “You got sick thoughts? I got more of ’em / You got a sister-in-law you’d smash? I got four of ’em /Damn, those is your sisters/ You did somethin’ unholy to them pictures/”.

Unholy indeed Ye, unholy indeed.

Ye, not only implied that he feels some sort of attraction to his wife’s sisters Kendall, Kylie, Khloé, and Kourtney but also stated that he actually used his imagination with a picture of them.

Now, if this wasn’t enough, the cover art for this single is a picture taken in the 21st birthday of Kylie Jenner where it pictures his wife Kim and her four sisters, leaving nothing to the imagination.

Perhaps the rapper went too far this time with these lyrics.

The Sensation

The internet was quick to pick up on this topic. Immediately after the release, memes began to appear everywhere and news articles reporting what he said flooded the internet.

Kanye West will be back in the spotlight for at least 1 more month just because of this song and the lyrics presented.

The rapper is known for his controversy going back to the first May where inside of the TMZ building where Kanye went on a rant about how Slavery was a choice.

That brought a lot of comments and some slight issues for the rapper, adding to that, his known support for the current president of the United States Donald Trump has also been somewhat of a thorn in his side as well.

Did his fans leave him? I doubt it. He’s still experiencing significant interaction and continues to work with other artists and collaborate in various ways in the industry.

He released“YE” and he addressed a lot of these issues. Judging by the numbers that his album made, doing 208,000 on the first week and landing at the number 1 spot in the Billboard top 200 Albums, it is safe to say that Kanye is fine.
