Biography

After establishing himself on local small and big screens, South African actor Kenneth Fok has worked his way into roles reaching a mainstream audience worldwide in Safe House (2012) and Eye in the Sky (2016). His versatility has led him to performances with William H. Macy in The Deal (2008) to Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey in The Dark Tower (2017), as well as Alicia Vikander in Tomb Raider (2018). Whilst still working on homegrown projects playing the formidable villain Chang in Night Drive (2010) and Wei in Five Fingers for Marseilles (2017), he has been cast in several TV series including Strike Back (2011), Dominion (2014), Homeland (2014) and The Looming Tower. Son of a vegetable farmer and housewife and the youngest of seven siblings, Kenneth was born on May 21, 1974 in Germiston, Johannesburg. After turning down the opportunity to partake in the family business he studied acting then moved to London where he landed a role as an extra on the Bond movie Die Another Day (2002). After his return he worked with the well-known South African icon Pieter-Dirk Uys in his successful stage play Macbeki playing four different characters. He also tried his luck in the long running local magazine programme Top Billing for their new Presenter Search Competition beating 8000 hopefuls and making it to the top four.
